Addendum to Things I Like

I forgot to add this to the list of things I like about my town:  I can always get a close parking place at J. C. Penny here.

Things I Like About My Town

We have been living in our new town for about 8 months now.  Everyone said I would "love it" here.  Adjusting to a move is not easy, especially leaving a city that has been home for most of my life, and I have had some gripes about some of the inconvveniences here.  (and the deer destroying my shrubs)  Anyway, there are some things that I have become grateful for just this week.  I went to 2 different doctors this week and had a mamogram.  All 3 of those offices were no more than 12 minutes away!  Now that is something to like!  The added bonus is that I liked both of these doctors, and am glad to have them available to me.  We are even more pleased about our builder, Superior Homes, now.  Doug found a few things that needed to be fixed in the house, and it didn't even take a week for them to send out someone to fix things.  Now that is service!

Deer

Remember "build it and they will come".....?  We have learned that if you put watermelon rinds in the backyard they will definitely come.

Usually it is the females that we see in the yard but since the watermelon rind was left in the back yard the buck has decided that he wants to come and participate in the party.

Home Again

We arrived home last Thursday night, passing up the opportunity to return to Pagosa Springs to join my cousins at the RV park.  It was a good thing, too--we had another shredding tire right north of Pueblo, CO.  We drove into the Sam's parking lot to get gas, and there was a tire place right next door.  So now we have 3 new tires to take us on our next trip.  We are just thankful that we made it safely without blowouts. While in Wyoming, we took a short camping trip with Mandy and family at their favorite place to camp.  It is about 2 hours west of Laramie (less if the crow flies) at about 8300 ft. in altitude.  It is a national forest campground with no conveniences except a nice outhouse.  It was peaceful and quiet.  We now have a screened shelter that we can set up to be free from the bugs, and we all played Mexican Train inside there.  The grandkids like to go exploring in the woods there.  On Saturday everyone but me went to a lake to fish.  But this picture doesn't look like Doug was doing much fishing, does it?

Anyway, the scenery was beautiful, and the sleeping was good in the cold nights.  We are glad to be back to our nice bed, though. And by the way, we don't have 20 barn swallows roosting on our porch; they seem to have disappeared.  They did leave a lot of evidence of their past residence, however.
